On any given Friday at Lakeland Elks Lodge #1291, the banquet hall is buzzing. Karaoke echoes off the walls, a Mexican food buffet draws a crowd three plates deep, and strangers become regulars before the night is over. That kind of energy is not an accident. It is what 86 reviewers have called the single best lodge in Florida, built by members who show up every day and mean it.

The lodge sits on Harden Boulevard in south Lakeland and has been a cornerstone of civic giving in Polk County. Each year, members raise roughly $100,000 and direct it toward local charities, youth programs, and veterans' causes. The banquet room, with its clean neutral palette and comfortable appointments, hosts everything from formal fundraising dinners to casual themed nights, bending easily to whatever the community needs next.

Membership here is less a card in your wallet and more a standing invitation. The doors open daily, the calendar stays full, and the people who walk through are the kind who remember your name. If you have been looking for a place in Lakeland that gives as much as it gathers, this is it.

What We Offer

Lodge #1291 runs a packed schedule that covers something for nearly every interest. Weekly themed dinners, including popular Mexican nights with a full hot buffet, give members and guests a reason to come back regularly. Lively Friday karaoke draws a crowd that spills into the weekend, and the fully equipped banquet room is available for private events, corporate gatherings, and formal functions.

Beyond the social calendar, the lodge operates a bar and lounge open to members daily, a dedicated space for Elks-sponsored youth activities, and organized volunteer drives that funnel donations into the Lakeland community year-round. Membership benefits include access to all events, reciprocal privileges at Elks lodges nationwide, and the satisfaction of contributing to a group that puts more than $100,000 back into local causes every single year.

New members are welcomed through a straightforward application process. Whether you are a longtime Lakeland resident or new to the area, the lodge staff and existing members make orientation feel like running into old friends rather than filling out paperwork.

"I recently joined the elks in siebring because that’s where my sponsor was but decided to try & transfer to the lakeland location since it was closer. I went twice & I must say I never felt more like an outsider as I did in this lodge. I’m a widow & was trying to get out & meet people but only a couple of people acknowledged me, after that I was ignored pretty much. Guess I will try the VFW"

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
